On the subject of state tax forms nowadays, you don’t need to go to the local library or post office to get them any longer.
Just go online and get it straight from the government!
You don’t even have to spend money on postage mailing anything in, either; no printing, no wasting precious ink or toner – just file online.
It’s really wonderful what modern technology can do!

But one thing seems odd at first: while it’s possible to get state tax forms from government websites, you won’t be capable of file them there.
That’s right; you have to go elsewhere to actually report your earnings!
Seems strange, right?
Especially when you’ve just been informed in the last paragraph that it’s possible to file online.

It’s all quite logical enough, in fact, strange as it may first seem to be – and, not surprisingly, it calls for money.
Yes it’s true, money.
(Hey, this is an article on state tax forms, after all!)
The main reason you can find those forms through the government but not actually file them directly with the government – not online, that is (you can still print them out and mail them in if you wish) – is merely because of money.

The government was all set to supply free comprehensive services, both preparation and filing, but the makers of tax prep software lobbied against the idea because it would quickly put them out of business.
All things considered, why should anyone pay money for tax preparation software – every single year, on account of possible changes to the tax laws – if you could simply log onto the government’s site and do the same for free?

And so the companies lobbied the government heavily.
And at some point a compromise was reached: industry heavyweights such as Intuit and the like would offer free tax preparation as well as electronic filing online for those who make under twenty-five thousand dollars a year – for federal taxes only.
The government might drop its bid to make tax reporting free for anyone.

Score another one for the corporations.

We all want to get rich.
And for many if not most, the way to get rich is to get into some type of business.

But what is the best business of all?

Investing, naturally.
Just ask Warren Buffett!

Obviously, success such as his is single for several reasons, not all of which factors are replicable, whether to the same degree or at all, ever – but definitely everyone can invest, and win.

It’s just that this best business of all requires some solid character along with intelligence.
For beyond the number-crunching of data, beyond even correct interpretation of data that separates the good from the purely lucky, what’s needed is character.

Yes, character.

Looks odd to speak of making cash and character in the same breath, but, as many who’ve “been there and done that” can attest, eventually, the distingushing feature is the intangible one of character.

Not in the sense of morality, essentially, but definitely in the impression of “nature,” as in the nature of a person, his or her purely natural personality, who the person is at the core.

Hence, though being the best business of all since in investing your money is working for you rather than you employed by money, after getting up to speed in the field, after understanding all there is to know about how stuff works in the world of securities, there is the issue of character, of personality.

Without the proper character, investing becomes speculation, a crapshoot – and as professional gamblers know, the house always wins.
Given the required time, any money earned shall be earned back: lost.

Whereas in investing, given plenty of time, any money lost will be earned back – and any money gained, with gain anew, only exponentially!

So what are you waiting around for?
Start reading now.
“Bone up” on your sound business fundamentals – but most importantly, look to the instance of Warren Buffett and his mentor Ben Graham for an insight into how character, in conjunction with intelligence and persistent effort, makes for success in the stock market!

Racing is probably as old as man himself.
As an activity, a easy physical activity, it is hard to imagine a time when man didn’t run against another – man, woman, or beast.
Indeed, many evolutionary biologists and anthropologists now hold that running – or racing, more or less (the distinction prevails in many but not all cases) – is a big portion of the reason behind how we became human to begin with.
These thinkers and researchers believe it was the ability to run, run after prey and so in a sense to race against them, that permitted us to get the meat which lead to the growth of the human brain.

It is thought that the urge to run is an innate one.
Along with our ability to sweat, racing after prey allowed the otherwise physically unremarkable speices that we are to procure enough protein to grow ever larger cranial volumes.
Just look at kids, and how they will naturally run after one another.
As scientists have long acknowledged, playtime behavior has evolutionary roots.
Among humans, the highest element of many of our most basic physical pastimes entails running, giving chase.

We are nowhere close to the fastest animals on the planet, to be sure, but there appears to be none that can match our stamina and capacity to keep running.
In fact, there is no evolutionary reason for the ability to sweat other than to run long distances.
Before the progression of projectile weapons such as slingshots, boomerangs, and bows and arrows, human beings hunted by merely running down their prey, running them to exhaustion, literally running them to death.
For not being able to sweat meant that they had to stop in order to cool-down, providing, in time, the perfect opportunity for human beings to close in for the kill.

Wholesale sterling silver will not seem so easy to come by, at least not really if you’re just some layman or woman using Google.
While revolutionary because of its time, Google has long been simply resting on its laurels where search engine technology can be involved.
Sure there are updates to its algorithms, but it is rather effortlessly manipulated, and the science of manipulating Google is now to the point where anyone who wants to pay high enough a price can finagle his or her way onto the top of its results page.

So, to continue with our example, try typing in “wholesale sterling silver” and see what the results are.
Look through as many pages as you want.
Are the returned results what you want?
No, definitely not, unless you were only ever before interested in jewelry as well as other tchotkes.
The greatest search engine in the world and what do they think plenty of people who are looking for “wholesale sterling silver” online really want?
Baubles.
Trinkets.
Pure kitsch.

That is what Google is, unadulterated kitsch.
Actually, the company’s main accomplishment these days lies in persuading everyone that they are still relevant!
It might still well indeed be the best we’ve got, nonetheless.
Rival search engines purporting to utilize exotic new artificial subroutines and other technological breakthroughs have simply decreased by the wayside.
Indeed, it is arguable that they never really got off the ground in the first place!

Two such competition that attracted a lot of pre-release buzz are Cuil and Wolfram~Alpaha.
Cuil was founded by two former Google employees, while Wolfram~Alpha is the eponymous brainchild of the famous scientist and businessman.
Neither gained much traction for all the publicity surrounding them.
Cuil has actually been shut down not too long ago, going out of business in barely somewhat more than two years.
Wolfram~Alpha is actually an answer machine and not a search engine per se, computing questions from available structured data rather than merely providing a list of webpages with the relevant text string.

It’s only January, even when it’s already two weeks into the month now, but that still means that it’s practically tax season!
That’s right, with April 15th almost just four months away, now is the time to begin with filing that 1040 Form.
The time has come to get all your documents together.
Now is the time to pay a visit to your accountant, or just prepare it yourself and get everything over with already – now!

Or procrastinate at your own risk.
Most variations of the 1040 Form are really easy to handle on your own, unless you own a fat and complicated investment portfolio or something of the sort, including real estate and so forth.
But of course the whole thing is onerous to begin with, which is why even flawlessly poor people go to the trouble and expense of hiring someone else to prepare their returns for them!

But procrastination is a dangerous thing in relation to the government’s money.
You may be fined and/or (and note how that’s “and/or” – not only one or the other, but [rather] possibly both!) locked up for being late.
It’s happened to others; why not you?
Seriously, the 1040 Form is so easy to do, usually, that it’s the height of ignorance to cover tax preparation that can cost from fifteen to thirty percent of your expected refund!

That’s not even bringing up the excess cost of filing electronically – which is free, actually, for those making under twenty-five thousand dollars a year if carried out through a third-party website associated with the IRS.
It’s amazing how much money can be produced filling out people’s tax forms for them!
Even charging just a “discount” rate of thirty to fifty dollars a pop with a client base of only ten to twenty people, that’s between three hundred to a thousand dollars in a week – for what might not even amount to ten hours of work altogether!

Long associated with luxury goods including fine crystal glass miniatures and chandeliers, Austrian manufacturer Swarovski has over a century of experience that gives them an unbeatable cut-throat advantage with regards to such goods as rhinestone diamond simulants.
Created from rock crystal, glass, and even acrylic, the most faithful illustrations almost rival the expense of real diamonds sometimes!

That’s because fine Swarovski rhinestones can generate rainbow effects just like the real thing.
Due to special coatings and production processes, many will even sparkle in the sunlight or exhibit some other characteristics of a real diamond.
But for all the verisimilitude, one of the most tell-tale qualities involve its inherent softness, given a rhinestone by the lead in its composition, making edges and even facets rather easily scratched and swiftly rounded.
Such tell-tale signs require but fairly modest magnification to spot.
Modern manufacturing methods can also give things away, such as the molds used in lieu of traditional cutting, making for rather obvious seams.

It’s all done in Wattens, Austra, where the company even operates a small indoor theme park at a local shoppping mall.
Near historic Innsbruck in the scenic southern Tyrol region of alpine valleys, Swarovski quality is so well-known that every year since 2004 the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City has been graced by a star from the company, quality that might have made its eponymous founder, Daniel, proud.
He was born more than a hundred years ago in 1862 to a glass-cutter who also possessed a small glass factory of his own, and was from a young age quite experienced at the craft himself, even being able to carry on to patent his own electric cutting machine at the age of thirty, a device that greatly facilitated the mass production of lead crystal glass jewelry.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time, but given our progressively digital world, is it any wonder that electronic cigarettes must exist – and become so popular?
While not everything electronic is digital, and these cigarettes are almost as “analog” as conventional types, it is definitely a sign of changes that people should now light up using not good old-fashioned flame but present day battery power!

An electronic cigarette works in only that way, employing a small heating coil powered by a small lithium-ion battery cell to provide nicotine.
Four steps are included: a flow sensor detects whether the user is breathing in, upon which time the liquid nicotine and flavoring contained in a catridge is published into the atomization chamber.
An embedded computer chip handles the quantity that is released to the heating coils, which “atomizes” the liquid, creating a rich vapor said to be similar to smoke.
Finally, a LED display light at the tip of the cigarette opposite the filter glows and fades out to indicate activity, mimicing the actions of a conventional cigarette.

Because these devices discharge only vapors and not smoke, they are also known as smokeless cigarettes and, it is claimed, perfectly legal for usage in even banned locations since no second-hand smoke harmful to bystanders is concerned.
Without a doubt, it is even claimed that e-cigarettes present lowered risks to the people themselves, as the carcinogenic agents that result from combustion are also absent.

The science on this claim may be controversial, with the World Health Organization finding no such gain in 2008 while a Boston University School of Public Health analysis in 2010 concluding almost the opposite.
Most of the manufacturers themselves, however, will often still slap onto their products the same warning labels mandatory for typical cigarettes as a result of nicotine content included.

It should be great configuring a company like Lafnac Computer Store, right in the heart of midtown Manhattan, just a few blocks beyond the world-famous Times Square. I wonder exactly how much the rent must be! I knew of a restaurant within the Upper West Side, during the ’80s, right on Broadway, which in fact had a rent of thirty-five or six thousand dollars – a month! This was back in the mid-1980s, too, when a dollar had been genuinely more (that is, bought more), too; so you can make sure that such an amount is even more pricey in those days than it is nowadays.

Because of their being less expensive than diamonds, rhinestones are often called “cheap” even though the best examples would fetch almost as much as real diamonds, like those made by Swaroski in Wattens, Austria.
Swarovski Rhinestones are famous for exhibiting most of the same characteristics as real diamonds, for example glistening sparkling outcomes seen when displayed in sunlight.
This level of know-how is a result of the company’s long history – well over a hundred years, in fact – of manufacturing fine luxury goods like crystal miniatures and chandeliers.
Of course, as with all diamond simulants, Swarovski Rhinestones can only be but so faithful in their verisimilitude.
Underneath but rather magnification a trained eye may observe such tell-tale signs as seams, which are a predictable result of modern production processes.
Even the highest quality specimens which are not created through molds can be given away by the softness of the lead used in their composition, making for easily scratched surfaces and quickly dulled edges.

Such are the ill-fated realities that attend all rhinestones, no matter the maker.
Yet those by Swarovski are eagerly sought all the same.
Founded by Daniel Swarovski who in 1892 at the age of thirty squeezed an electric cutting machine patented, a device that made lead crystal jewelry much easier to make, the company’s expertise are so famous that since 2004 they have offered the star atop Rockefeller Center’s Christmas Tree in New York City.
Mention Swarovski Rhinestones and one is more likely to think of the European aristocracy than the American musicians now commonly associated with the material, celebrities just like Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley who have adopted it as a part of their very stage personae; they have popularized the rhinestone even as they appear to have cheapened its image as a rather expensive substitute for diamond.

State Tax Forms are used by Americans in order to report their incomes for the year to their states.
Not all states of the United States tax personal income, however; the seven that do not are Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming.
In addition to this list, the states of New Hampshire and Tenessee tax only dividends and interest income for individuals, preferring to levy major revenue through higher sales taxes and so on.

The state tax forms used by most Americans tend to resemble those used by the IRS, often a page or two for the most part and pretty straightforward.
These are generally filed right along with federal tax returns, and due at the same time, mid-April.
They might be found at the same places federal forms are distributed, such as post offices and libraries.

In addition to state tax forms, some municipalities issue their own.
In a place like New York City, the combined personal income tax burden can add up to a maximum of about forty-five and a half percent – a fairly high level, to be certain, until it is considered that only the very wealthiest of residents could be subject to it.
Indeed, in the 1950s of pro-business Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower, wealthy Americans across the country can expect income taxes someplace in the neighborhood of ninety percent!
So even a rate of practically half doesn’t seem so bad, specifically for the multi-millionaires that are subject to it.

Places like New York City feel they need to charge their own taxes simply because that they are huge metropolises that send more to state along with federal coffers than they receive in return.
Actually, during the fiscal crisis of the 1970s, the city pleaded for federal help to no avail, a refusal succinctly captured by a hometown paper’s front-page headlines at the time: “Ford to City: Drop Dead.”

A 1040 Form is not hard to fill out.
The truth is, it’s the easiest tax form available in the United States (though an even easier – that is, more streamlined – one exists, called the “1040EZ”).

It’s only all of two pages, the 1040 Form.
It’s the instructions, however, that really intimidate folks.
But even then things are actually pretty simple and straightforward.
Though running many, many pages, instructions are really easy to follow and, in a great majority of cases, one can skip over a lot of the text as much concerns all the various situations that might be possible, sections which if not applicable to oneself may be skipped.

So why do people still hire others to fill out and file a 1040 Form for them?
It is not clear.
The worldwide web has made tax season a much simpler matter, with interactive help that’s immediate and often relevant.
And for the typical 1040 filer, it’s free!
Along with private companies such as Intuit (more on this later), the IRS has made federal tax preparation and electronic filing services cost-free to people making under a certain amount of money; the cut-off has been about twenty-five thousand dollars for the last few years.

Such a cut-off means that only poor people can count on this kind of help even though the IRS had first proposed to move all American tax reporting online, through its own website.
But the makers of tax accounting software, big-name companies including Intuit, Microsoft, and the like, lobbied hard for the government to stay out of the business.
A compromise was sooner or later brokered, resulting in the current system whereby federal taxes are prepared and filed for free for those making less than twenty-five grand a year.
State and other local taxes have no coverage under this agreement, even though generally they cost a few dollars for most people.

Wholesale sterling silver isn’t the kind of thing that could be easily obtainable to the general public.
It’s not like you type the term into a search engine and you get a list of distributors.
Many wholesale commodities can be found only at special markets.
As an example, if you wanted millions of corn, you wouldn’t just try out a local supermarket.

It’s the same thing in regards to wholesale sterling silver.
You simply can’t just walk into a jewelry store and anticipate to get it – so you certainly won’t find it on the internet!
But, speaking of the worldwide web as well as its many search engines, it’s hard to find online for the same reason many other things are hard to fine online – search engines suck.
Even Google is very, very bad at what it does.
Yes, it’s true!

Just test it yourself: see what entering in “wholesale sterling silver” will get you at google.com.
Go ahead.
Well?
A bunch of jewelers!
Which, as we’ve already noted, isn’t the place you go for anything wholesale, whether silver, gold, or platinum.
Of course, retailers do exist online who offer such things but they’re retailers, not wholesalers.
Naturally, some wholesalers should have websites, but they are not easily found, likely because of the lack of search engine optimization, or SEO.

SEO is the science and art of getting a website listed using a search engine for a word or term.
This type of word or phrase is called a keyword.
Targeting specific keywords is usually crucial to a business – for example, a widget maker would love to be associated with the keyword “widgets” or “widgets on sale” since this means he or she can be one of the first listings returned by a search engine whenever a potential customer types in that keyword.
Wholesalers, however, probably do not have as much of an incentive to pay for SEO since they do not market to the general public, using their potential customers industry insiders who would find them through other means.

A number of people miscalculate the results rent has on an enterprise. They look at something such as Lafnac Computer Store, positioned in midtown Manhattan where there’s plenty of foot traffic (with, additionally , rather well-heeled feet, too, most likely, specifically given each of the tourists – for no person goes on vacation unprepared to spend a couple of bucks) and think, that’s it, if perhaps I too had a location like that, I could make a sale and make a wad of cash! Nevertheless, even though you could be pulling in fifty thousand dollars a month, your rent would probably be half that amount – at least!

Being really easy, you wouldn’t think that anyone would pay someone to fill out a 1040 Form on their behalf.
Pay someone to complete a basic two-page form?
It sounds ridiculous, yet that’s exactly what many people do, apparently intimidated by the many, many, many pages of instructions.

These instructions for the 1040 Form are actually pretty straightforward and not too numerous.
They span so many pages, however, due to the fact that multiple scenarios are covered, with examples given and definitions provided.

The 1040 Form is about as simple as it gets, though variants just like the 1040A and 1040EZ do exist that streamline matters even further.
But it’s no surprise that the 1040 should be simple; it is, after all, the “starter form” for most American taxpayers, folks who do not possess difficult situations.

Despite being all of two pages by itself, many who file the 1040 will also present attachments that report information which may not fit inside the limited space given on the form itself.
These attachments are official parts of the 1040 called “schedules.”
Schedule C, for example, lists income and expenditures related to self-employment, while Schedule F is used to report that related to farming.

It’s all due by April 15 each year – or the first business day after that should April 15 fall on the weekend or perhaps a holiday.
But because of the worldwide web, filing is easier than in the past, as is preparing itself, with guided onscreen instructions offered by the websites of a lot of the biggest name in computer tax software.
It’s not simple charity on their part, however; these companies lobbied the IRS very hard when it planned to provide, cost-free, tax preparation and filing through the official IRS website.
The resultant comprise allows those making less than twenty-five grand a year to have their federal taxes well prepared and filed at no cost when done online.
